Growing up the daughter of Bridal Spectacular producer makes finding a dress even more difficult

Finding your dream wedding dress is fun and exciting,  for most women when they try on a wedding dress at a shop its the first time they have worn a wedding dress. However,  for my daughter who has modeled at The Bridal Spectacular (Las Vegas’ most popular bridal show since 1991) since she was 3 and has been wearing wedding gowns in the show since she was 15, the experience of trying on wedding dresses would be quite familiar.

Even though the wedding is over a year away, and she has goals to get back to her pre-college weight, we wanted to get an idea of what style dress would appeal to her somewhat “exquisite” and very specific taste in bridal gowns.  We plan to wait until the recommended time frame of 6 – 7 months before the wedding to actually order the dress.  Up to now her dream dress was definitely going to be a Maggie Sottero but after today that may have changed.

We heard about a Trunk Show that was being held at Couture Bride and made an appointment to attend and try on gowns. Here is Laura’s story about her visit to Couture Bride.

“Simply the best, Couture Bride, carries fine wedding dress designers such as: Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang, and Melissa Sweet. As you drive up to the store you know that you are about to step into a shop with a modern and elegant atmosphere with only the finest couture dresses. I was thrilled with the service I received. The staff was friendly, sincere, and helpful. There wasn’t an awkward moment. My mother and I went to Couture Bride on March 20th, 2010 for the Simone Carvalli trunk show. The dresses were properly pressed and elegantly presented. Being a size 16, I know that often times the problem with trunk shows is that all the sample dresses are size 4. Though my personal favorite dress was too small for me to even try on, Annette, our attendant, pulled other dresses of a similar style to help me see how my dream dress would fit and feel. I was very impressed with the service and I know the other brides in the shop seemed just as thrilled and overjoyed. I would recommend Couture bride to anyone! You may be thinking, “Couture? Can I afford that?” I say YES! I did try on an exquisite Monique Lhuillier dress that was four times my budget of two grand but in the end they were able to help me find a dress that I love that fits my budget and makes me look beyond glamorous.  I will wait to actually order until I’ve reached some goals and looked at a few more shops, but for now…..I love Simone Carvalli!”

Some of Laura’s personal Favorites:

Simone Carvalli My favorite was #7149, but in the photos I’m wearing  a Monique Lhuillier lace gown

Vera Wang Another gown I really loved!

Thank you Dawn and Annette of Couture Bride for making Laura’s first try on experience as a bride-to-be extra special and we truly believe we will be back!

Make sure you go to the show where Las Vegas weddings are planned, The Bridal Spectacular

Note:  We had special permission to take photos for the purpose of creating this blog post.  Because these are couture gowns, the designers request that photos not be taken at the shop to protect them from people creating “knock offs”.
