When Jacqueline Butler, Tara Cox, Rissa Gunderson and Traci McMaster met in a detailed wedding coordination course, they started to scheme: What if they brought high-quality coordination and contemporary event design to Las Vegas weddings? Now, fully certified and passionate about pursuing personal relationships while bringing the best design to each event, these ladies have formed the highly-sought Las Vegas wedding and event planning company, Scheme Events.
“The definition of ‘scheme’ means ‘to plan, design, and execute an event,’” Butler said at the most recent Bridal Spectacular bridal show.
Cox agreed. “We started our company,” she said, “in the hopes that we can bring a great design to Las Vegas, just to collaborate all our ideas together.”
Ripe with creativity and connections, each member of Scheme Events seeks to develop an event design that complements a bride and groom’s personal style. Whether a couple wants complete event design, day-of wedding coordination, or simply an idea organization appointment, the Scheme ladies always establish a personal connection with their clients.
“We like to really customize each event,” Butler said. “Each wedding is much different than the next.”
To create an original wedding, Scheme gives each bride and groom an extensive questionnaire. Through non-wedding-related questions, they delve into each couple’s personalities as they make decisions about favorite furniture pieces, best shopping stores, and preferences for date nights.
“We can take that, and we can incorporate it into the style of the reception,” Cox said. “If they like to go to a nice dinner, maybe we’ll suggest doing a sit-down dinner. … If they like to go to a bar and have a good time, then we’ll do more party-style stations and an open bar.”
“We try to pull things that have nothing to do with their wedding, things from their personality, into the wedding to make it their own,” Butler said.
Throughout the past year, Scheme Events’ team has sharpened their skills to cater to each bride and groom. From intimate backyard ceremonies to elaborate resort receptions, these ladies host professional experience and resourceful innovation to create an event for any style.
“I had a bride who got married at the M Resort, and she wanted to walk down the middle of the catwalk at the pool,” Cox said as she recounted one of her greatest design projects. “That was the longest aisle that we’ve ever done. That was a lot of fun, and it was really romantic too.”
“We did a whole carnival circus in a backyard,” Butler said of a memorable party and smiled. “We now know where to rent elephants.”
While Scheme Events can plan elaborate weddings, these ladies also understand the importance of working within a budget.
“You don’t need to spend twice as much,” Cox said. “In your budget, we would bring out elements that are most important to you.”
With a budget breakdown, recommended vendors, event design, and idea-building sessions available before the wedding, Scheme Events also offers day-of coordination. This option lets a Scheme member handle wedding day details, such ensuring vendors arrive on time, fastening boutonnieres, coordinating the cake cutting, directing the aisle walk, and additional responsibilities.
“I would recommend [it] for any bride who plans her own wedding,” Butler said. “We … let her be the bride and let her family enjoy it.”
“You plan for so long,” Cox said, “and your wedding is four or five hours. So it really goes by quick. Really enjoy all the time you put into your wedding.”
For any stage of wedding planning, the Scheme team alleviates stress and delivers well-coordinated, customized weddings.
“We make it much more enjoyable for the bride,” Butler said. “We take off a lot of the busy work. … We make it more of a fun experience for her than a stressful one.”
That’s why Scheme Events exists. These women believe in love, and they understand a wedding’s vitality. Therefore, they want brides to experience their personal weddings as memorable, enjoyable beginnings to their blossoming marriages.
“Allow Scheme Events to do the dirty work,” Cox said. “Let us create your event you’ve been planning forever. So you can just enjoy and take it in.”
