This weekend, the clock will count down to 2012. The fireworks will ignite, the sky alight, and you, Las Vegas brides, can kiss the groom!  For every engaged woman who’s planning her 2012 wedding, this weekend’s countdown means you’re one big step closer to taking your vows at the altar and celebrating your marriage with friends and family, whether you’re hosting a wedding in January or next December.

As you enter 2012, embrace this next step closer to your marriage.

As you prepare to ring in the new year, choose to set a few New Year’s Resolutions that reflect your wedding. From the planning process to the actual big day, consider what’s important to you. Then set those goals, and discover steps you need to take to accomplish them.

Need a little inspiration? Here are a few resolutions that helped me as I approached my wedding day as a Vegas bride. Review these tips, and feel free to create your own ideas for your personal Las Vegas weddings.

#1. Save Money: I promise to stick to my wedding budget, so I can start my marriage debt-free and incredibly happy.

#2. Believe You’re Beautiful: I promise to remember I’m beautiful, even after trying twenty-seven dresses or surviving a bad hair day.

#3. Don’t Be Guilt-Tripped: I promise to choose who I feel closest to for my wedding party, not who I feel obligated to select to stand beside me at the altar.

#4. Include Others: I promise to keep in touch with friends and family while I’m planning my wedding, and I will ask for help when I most need it.

#5. Keep Others Informed: I promise to tell my bridal party about my expectations to give them a starting point while also allowing myself to be flexible.

What New Year's Resolutions will you set for your wedding?

#6. Love What You Have: I promise to humbly receive the blessings I have been given, even the disguised ones.

#7. Embrace the Moment: I promise to relax, to laugh, and to enjoy every moment of my special day, from my pre-wedding prep to my wedding amidst each of my guests to my first evening as a married woman with my groom.

Brides, take the resolutions that relate to you and apply them for your new year. Then polish your personal list with your own New Year’s creations and creeds. Whatever you decide, aim to include wedding planning details, personal decisions, and hope for your relationship and friendships throughout the next year.
