In our last blog, we shared the first installment of How to Create the Perfect Wedding Look for The Guys to help ensure all Las Vegas grooms are informed and prepared when it comes to selecting their wedding attire. Today, we at Bridal Spectacular have even more great advice for the guys from Michelle Parsons, the Director of Sales and Marketing for Tuxedo Junction.

Bridal Spectacular: What is the first step the groom-to-be should take when he’s looking for his perfect suit or tux?

Michelle: Would he need to wear a tuxedo at least a couple of times a year? If so, he may consider purchasing one instead of getting a rental. Also, what type of fit does he want? Classic fit, modern fit or slim fit?

Bridal Spectacular: Once the Groom has an idea of what he’s looking for, how to you help him coordinate his look with the bride’s style?

Michelle: Some things to consider is will the bride be wearing full formal, semi-formal, a conventional or a novelty dress? What time of the day is the wedding? There is some protocol such as not to wear tails before 6:00 p.m., so a morning suit would be more appropriate.

In addition, the bride should have her bridesmaid’s dresses and colors chosen and provide a color swatch to help in coordinating accessories.

Bridal Spectacular: One of the top questions we often hear is should the guys wear a bowtie or a necktie, how do you help him decide?

Michelle: That is a preference, but there are even more options than that! With some tuxedos you would wear only a bowtie, such as ones with tails and the morning suit would be an ascot. If the groom and groomsmen are wearing the same style tuxedo or suit, he may decide to differentiate them with the ties. He could wear the bow, which is a bit more formal and the groomsmen wear the long Windsor ties. Again, this also depends on what the bride is wearing. If it is a more casual wedding, groomsmen have been wearing ties with matching color suspenders, forgoing the jacket.

Bridal Spectacular: Once the groom has determined his wedding attire, how do you help select the groomsmen look?

Michelle: Sometimes, but not always, they may wear something completely different. If they are on a budget, the groom may wear the tuxedo and the rest would be in a suit. The groom would wear color accessories that would complement the bride and the groomsmen’s accessories would complement the bridesmaids.

Bridal Spectacular: What are the current trends you’ve been seeing with men’s wedding attire?

Michelle: The navy and greys have become the new black. Black tuxedos now amount for only 50% of the rentals.

Bridal Spectacular: Is there anything else you would like to add or share?
