Your Las Vegas Destination Wedding Could Be Held at Historic Boulder Dam Hotel

My mother and I had the pleasure of staying a night at one of Nevada’s few remaining Historical buildings: The Boulder Dam Hotel. The hotel was built in 1933 as a location to house dignitaries and famous visitors who wanted to see the construction of the great Hoover dam. The building is even in the national registry as a historic location. The hotel was the third building built in boulder and is the pride and backbone of the small town, just south-east of Las Vegas.

Today the hotel contains 20 beautiful boutique style rooms, a wonderful breakfast/lunch restaurant, gift shops, a tea house and a museum dedicated to educating all locals and passersby about the history of Boulder city and the Dam. The southern plantation style abode is filled with beautiful antique furniture and original décor from the early 30’s. Below the establishment is a lounge that has bragging rights to being one of the original Speak-easy’s in our area.

The location, about 45 minutes from the strip, is just far enough away that you feel you are on vacation, but so conveniently close that you don’t have to stress about travel plans! It is also walking distance from many great restaurants and the downtown boulder area, which is full of cute shops and galleries.

Their newest endeavor is to break into doing weddings! The Friendly and energetic staff hope to bring more brides out to see their beautiful, historic locale. The thing that is so great about planning a Boulder Dam wedding is that you’re money is going not only into the creation of your dream wedding but into the support of a community’s legacy and a non-profit museum. Your wedding ceremony can either be held in the elegant front ballroom or on the terrace.  The reception can be in the dining room and after dinner your guests can either hang around the grand piano or go down stairs to the old “speak easy”.

Having a Boulder Dam wedding is like renting a mansion. Their facilities provide for a beautiful event for up to 60 guests. Some packages even include up to 20 guest rooms.
