At this season’s Bridal Spectacular bridal show, our fashion shows displayed the newest twist on classic traditions as well as the avant-garde in bridal gown design. Thanks to collaboration by David’s Bridal, Bridal Elegant, Alfred Angelo, Dillard’s Department Store, and Las Vegas Bridal Gown, we showcased the grandest collections of wedding dress designs in our bridal show’s history to our attending brides and grooms.

This week, Las Vegas brides, we’re bringing the best of these looks to you through this blog. Discover the cutting-edge trends, the lasting classics, and the newest designs for today’s brides in these 2012 collections.

In today’s feature, unveil the twist on the traditional. These bridal gowns each have their roots in vintage bridal fashion, but their designs demonstrate the desires and needs of modern brides. Find which classic inspiration best suits your style.

1. Lovely Look: Lace Overlay

Elegant, ethereal, and romantic, lace never leaves the face of bridal fashion. Inspired by vintage wedding gowns and 2011’s royal bridal attire, this season’s lace gowns feature an embellished overlay for a multidimensional look best accented with a ruched waist sash.

2. Subtly Sexy: Embellished Illusion Neckline

Show some skin without being too scandalous with the illusion neckline. This bodice design gives a glimpse of skin like the strapless gown, but it also adds sexy intrigue as it keeps the dress in safely in place with embellished straps.

3. Cinched in the Center: Empire Waistline

Define your shape, in a long or short gown, with a high waistline. Whether through a slim, rhinestone belt or a full, wrapped sash with a rosette, let the slimmest point of your body be just below the bust to add volume to the bodice and elongate the legs.
