When my daughter started her search for her wedding gown, we visited three stores. We already blogged about her experience at one of the stores a couple of weeks ago where she thinks she found the dress of her dreams, a beautiful Simone Carvalli at Couture Bride. We then visited two other stores that day each with it’s own unique features and benefits. For now, since she has over a year until her wedding she has decided to wait until she is sure of her size before ordering anything and we will check out a few more stores at that time. Of course, we will share her experiences with you then. But right now here is what she had to say about the other two shops we visited.
Bridal Warehouse
“It was fun looking around the Bridal Warehouse. They have a huge store with lots of beautiful and fun dresses! We checked them out in their new location on Rancho just south of Sahara. It is a great place to go if you want to see a variety of designers in many sizes with great prices! Its also a great place to get your bridesmaids or even prom! I saw so many cute dresses there that I would have loved back in my high school days. The owner was very kind and helpful but also gave us our space to wander around and look on our own. So if you are an independent do-it-yourself bride-to-be this is a great place to start! Bridal Warehouse has a convenient location, right in the center of town, and a refreshing no pressure atmosphere. Check them out!
David’s Bridal
There are so many good things I can say about David’s Bridal. If you have Bridesmaids coming from out of state its likely that at least one of their over three hundred stores is convenient for them to try on their dresses if they can’t make all the way out to Vegas to do fittings with you! One of my bridesmaids lives in Phoenix, Arizona so I know this will become very convenient when it comes time to pick bridesmaid dresses. As for our local David’s Bridal stores, I know that the staff at both locations are wonderful ladies, but I went to the Sahara location near the 95. The Manager, Brittany hooked us up with a sales representative who helped us with our every need! They pulled dress after dress for us and provided a bridal bra, shoes, and slips for the variety of dress styles I tried on. It was a very pleasant experience and I know it will be just as fun and pleasant for you! I can’t wait to come back with my bridesmaids!”
So, while Laura is not ready to make her decision yet, timing is everything and its never too early to start looking. Browse through magazines so you have some idea of what styles you think you like, but be open to the shop consultants suggestions. The dress my daughter likes the most right now was not a style she might have picked from a magazine. Choosing the dress is certainly one of the earliest decisions to be made and we hope to do that by 8 months before the wedding. Its also a good idea to call ahead for an appointment at the shops you plan to visit. You might also consider going on a weekday as Saturday is usually the busiest day in a bridal shop.
So good luck with your search for the perfect dress, we hope it will be as fun for you as it has been for us!
