Managing your wedding plans as reopening begins.

Kristen Marie Weddings + Portraits @ The Farm LV

The idea of having to handle wedding plans while juggling daily life is stressful on its own, not to mention add in a global pandemic, it can be outright mind-boggling! For that reason, Bridal Spectacular is here to share some helpful tips on managing your wedding plans as we begin to reopen.

To begin, planning for your wedding is typically one of the most exciting and happiest times of a person’s life. Therefore, even the thought of ever having to reschedule or cancel is downright heartbreaking! Unfortunately, many couples with wedding plans for this summer have been forced to do just that, so if this is something you’re facing it is important to stay positive, calm, and keep perspective. In the same way, don’t dismiss entirely your feelings of sadness. This is to be expected, especially if you’ve already put in a lot of time, money, and energy into planning your perfect day.

Second, remain open-minded and flexible when making the decision to postpone or cancel your wedding. In general, moving your wedding day is not worse than putting those you care about in harm’s way. Therefore, changing dates could save family and friends a lot of worry about having to cancel during these tough times. Also, moving dates may bring peace of mind for you too, especially if your normal lifestyle circumstances have been thrown into a state of uncertainty.

Next, reach out to all those involved with the wedding. To start, contact the venue to see what your options are and what possible future dates are available. After, be sure to check all signed contracts and reach out personally to each vendor about changes.  Also, did you get wedding insurance? Similarily, be sure to check in with your agent to go over the details. Finally, decide how to tell your guests. For example, you may want to send an email, a simple postponement card, or make a call depending on the time before the date.

Last, this pandemic has affected everyone worldwide, so it’s always best to just take it day by day. Prepare wisely and keep up a good relationship with a planner or an experienced team who can help make date changes easier. Also, Bridal Spectacular now has an updated calendar for your to easily check open dates of local venues, photographers, and planners.
