In August 2010, Yesenia and Jonathan first saw each other at a nightclub in Los Angeles for one of their mutual friend’s birthdays. Although they did not talk that night, they saw each other again the following weekend in Las Vegas. Jonathan asked Yesenia for her phone number and called her a few days later, yet he had miswrote one of the numbers and was unable to get a hold of her.
An entire year later, they met each other again and Jonathan told Yesenia that he had tried to call, but it had been the wrong number. After getting the correct number, they then started talking on the phone, which led to them dating, and after a few months Jonathan invited Yesenia to attend EDC in Las Vegas where he asked her to be his girlfriend.
Then in June 2015, Jonathan took Yesenia to the Bar at Mandarin Oriental where he proposed by giving her a custom-made box that was covered with pictures of them from over the years along with a custom-made frame with a ring in the center asking, “Will you marry me?” Of course, she said, “Yes!” and then they began planning their dream wedding.
The couple chose a destination wedding in Mexico and selected Las Vegas’ Stephen Salazar Photography to capture their very special day. Thank you both for letting Bridal Spectacular share this blog exclusive real wedding with our readers!
A Glimpse at Yesenia and Jonathan’s Wedding
Yesenia and Jonathan’s destination wedding on October 15 began with a beautiful church ceremony before heading to Villa del Paraiso for their reception. Featuring a whimsical color scheme of pale pink and white with hints of soft yellow, complete with breathtaking floral arrangements, golden chargers, candles and chandeliers, and a shimmering first dance, Yesenia and Jonathan’s wedding was simply magical!
The couple said one of the things that made their wedding special were the fun props their DJ provided. “Our DJ included a carnival package, which included party hats, balloons, LED light sticks, other fun props, and even a man in a zebra costume dancing on the dance floor!” Yesenia said.
“Another special moment was when we decided to go down to the ocean on the large rocks near the arc to get a good picture. The tide was quickly rising and we only had a short amount of time to get the shot. As we were jumping from rock to rock, we were almost hit with a big wave, but luckily our awesome photographer helped me get up higher before the wave hit me.”
