Weddings can be as unique and personalized as a couple wants it to be, which was certainly the case for Abbie and James’ intimate mountaintop ceremony at the beautiful Grand Canyon! Thank you both for letting Bridal Spectacular share your beautiful story with our readers!
Abbie and James first met when she visited his military camp with a friend and happened to run into James one night while she was there. Afterward, James messaged Abbie for six months asking her if she would get a drink with him. She said she was reluctant at first, as she had heard military guys had bad reputations, but she eventually agreed and two years later their lives changed forever. While James was on a break from Afghanistan, he took Abbie to a jewelry store to “look at watches.” Instead, when they entered the store, Abbie saw champagne and flowers and then James got down on one knee and asked Abbie to marry him. She of course said “yes!”
A Glimpse at Abbie and James’ Wedding
As featured in the January 2015 issue of Spectacular Bride Magazine, Abbie and James’ destination wedding on June 3, 2014 was utterly breathtaking. James had recently returned home from Afghanistan and they decided to head to Las Vegas and have a private ceremony for just the two of them. They chartered a helicopter to take them to the stunning Grand Canyon where they had a picturesque ceremony and then returned to Las Vegas for their reception dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant inside of the Paris Hotel.
Organizing the entire event themselves, Abbie said they didn’t want a big public affair where James had to be concerned with making everyone else happy since he had been away for seven months: “We wanted to spend some quality time together and get married in style (just the two of us) — And Vegas and a Grand Canyon Wedding is certainly the way to do it!”
We hope you enjoy this glimpse of Abbie and James’ extraordinary day as captured through the lens of CreativeTAG Studios!
